IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE 2021 GEICO 500 WEEKEND

Thank you for your continued support of Talladega Superspeedway! We remain grateful to have the best fans in sports. 

The safety of our fans has always been a top priority, and now more than ever, we must do everything we can to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all who visit Talladega Superspeedway. With this comes the difficult task of identifying experiences that could present enhanced risks to the health and well-being of our fans, competitors, and employees. 

To reduce potential for crowds in social or common areas, our seating and camping capacity has been reduced and these protocols will be in place: 

  • Our frontstretch capacity will be limited to allow for socially distanced seating. If your order includes frontstretch tickets, your seat may be relocated, but we will work diligently to find you a seat location as close to your original purchase as possible. 
  • We unfortunately will not be able to offer tent camping or accommodate campers without self-contained RVs, as all campground shower facilities will be closed. Some RV areas will also be closed due to proximity to a restricted area for competition-only personnel. 
  • Duration of stay for both infield and outside camping will be 5 nights, with entry beginning on Wednesday, April 21. Campers are welcome to stay through Monday morning, April 26. 

Although it's an unfortunate necessity as part of these measures, some experiences and areas listed below may be cancelled or closed. Should you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 877.Go2.DEGA (877.462.3342) for assistance.

  • We will defer your order to the 2022 event and place an additional 20% credit on your account for your cancelled experience. This credit can be used toward any event at a NASCAR-owned track through the 2022 season, upon availability. Your credit will be available to view by no later than March 29. 

    If you choose to keep the 120% credit option, no further action is needed at this time.  

    *Please note that the credit on your account will automatically be applied to any currently scheduled Payment Plans for Talladega Superspeedway, including any remaining tickets or camping in unaffected areas for the April weekend or any current order for the Fall 2021 Talladega weekend.

  • Refund requests will be reviewed and, if approved, refunds could take a minimum of 30 days to show on your credit card.

*NOTE: The Talladega Garage Experience will not be included in packages or sold as an upgrade with reserved grandstand tickets. As a result, guests who purchased TGE admissions will receive a credit for the amount paid, plus an additional 20%, on your account. No action is needed to receive this credit. 

A limited number of standalone admissions for reserved tables (sold in groups of four) will be available to purchase that provide access to modified areas in the Talladega Garage Experience. Access to the following will be closed: garage bay viewing areas, Driver Introductions, Pit Road, Kids Zone, and Victory Lane. Additional closures may be communicated at a later date. Existing ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase prior to the general public.

AT WHAT OTHER TRACKS CAN I USE THE EVENT CREDIT?

Ticketholders may use the 120% credit toward a future NASCAR-sanctioned event at any NASCAR-owned track through 2022, subject to availability. NASCAR-owned tracks with applicable NASCAR-sanctioned races where event credits may be used include the following:

WHEN WILL MY EVENT CREDIT BE APPLIED TO MY ACCOUNT?

Our ticketing team is hard at work processing both credits and refunds, and all efforts are being made to expedite that process. Please be patient; your credit will be posted to your account as soon as possible.

If that credit is not allocated to another event by June 1, 2021, it will be automatically applied to your Spring 2022 renewal.

I STILL WANT TO ATTEND THE GEICO 500. WHEN WILL I KNOW WHERE MY NEW SEATS ARE LOCATED?

As a result of venue capacity being limited to allow for social distancing, your seat may be relocated, but we will work diligently to find you a seat location as close to your original purchase as possible. 

Threseating process is expected to be complete by March 29, 2021, at which point you will be able to view your new seats on your ‘My Tickets’ account. 

HOW DO I GET A REFUND INSTEAD OF AN EVENT CREDIT?

The refund request deadline was March 18th.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY REFUND?

Refunds will be processed back to the credit card used on the original order. Refunds could take up to a minimum of 30 days to show on your credit card. If tickets were paid using another method of payment, a refund check will be issued and mailed to the ticketholder on file. Refund checks could additionally delay payment. WILL THIS AFFECT MY RENEWAL RIGHTS?

No. As a 2021 ticket holder, you have the first right to keep your same seat or campsite or next year’s event. Your renewal rights will be applied to the original seat or campsite you purchaseprior to the social distance reseating process.  

If you deferred your 2021 order to 2022, then your renewal order is locked in and completed; no further action is needed. 

WHY ARE SOME CAMPGROUNDS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT WEEKEND?

To reduce the potential for crowds in social/common areas, all campground shower facilities will be closed. As a result, we will not be able to accommodate tent campers or open our free campgrounds. Additionally, ALL CAMPERS ON TALLADEGA PROPERTY MUST HAVE SELF-CONTAINED RVS with toilet facilities on board, as well as other amenities. 

Some infield grounds may also be located within NASCAR's secure competition area, which will need to be kept clear to follow protocols designed to  keep drivers, teams, industry members, and fans safe. 

MY OUTSIDE CAMPGROUND IS CLOSED, BUT I ALSO HAVE SUNDAY TICKETS. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You will receive a 120% credit for your camping spot and any other contents of your order affected by closings. 

Our seating capacity has also been reduced to allow for social distancing, and fans will receive new seat assignments for the GEICO 500 on Sunday, April  25. Your new seat assignments will likely be different, but we will make every attempt to place you in comparable seating as close as possible to your  existing seats. 

If you would like to opt out of attending this April and move your entire camping + tickets order to Spring 2022please COMPLETE THIS FORM by  FEBRUARY 23, 2021.

WHAT ARE THE CAMPING PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR OCTOBER?
DO YOU FORESEE ANY OTHER CHANGES TO EVENT WEEKEND?

​As we continue to work with our local and state public health officials, there may be changes to event offerings and the protocols for the event. If any changes occur, we will update all ticket holders via email, social media, and our website.

WILL TAILGATING BE ALLOWED? WILL I BE ABLE TO BRING MY COOLER BACK TO THE TRACK?

In accordance with safety protocols and procedures, LIMITED TAILGATING will be allowed on Sunday, April 25 prior to the GEICO 500. Tents and grills will not be allowed, and only groups who traveled together will be allowed to tailgate together at their parking spot while adhering to social distancing guidelines. 

Soft-sided coolers (maximum size of 14”x14”x14”) will be permitted in grandstand/tower seating. More info about permitted and prohibited items is still  to come. 

HOW DO I GET A REFUND FOR THE REST OF MY RACE WEEKEND TRAVEL?

 Fans will need to work directly with airlines, hotels, etc. for any such possible arrangements.

I BOUGHT TICKETS THROUGH ANOTHER SOURCE, CAN I STILL GET AN EVENT CREDIT OR REFUND?

Any event credits or refunds will only be made to the ticketholder on file with the speedway. If tickets were purchased through a third party, please contact them directly for information on their refund policy.
