Talladega Superspeedway Announces 2008 Race Weekend Dates
NASCAR officially released its 2008 schedule today, and Talladega Superspeedway officials are pleased to announce that the two annual major event weekends here at the circuit's most competitive track are slated for the same weekends as in 2007. The 2008 Aarons Dream Weekend featuring the Aaron's 312 and Aaron's 499, will be April 25 - 27, 2008. Fans will witness two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practices and The Birmingham News Qualifying for the Aaron's 312 on Friday, April 25. The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is set for Saturday, April 26, followed by the Aaron's 312. Then on Sunday, April 27, thousands will be on hand to watch as NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams compete in the Aaron's 499. The 2008 fall event weekend featuring the ARCA RE/MAX Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be Oct. 3 - 5, 2008. Guests will experience an action-packed day on Friday, Oct. 3, including two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practices, Qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250. Then on Saturday, Oct. 4, fans will watch as NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams set the field during qualifying for Sunday's race, in addition to the return of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the Mountain Dew 250. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, race four in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, is set for Sunday, Oct. 5. Talladega Superspeedway will welcome fans back for the UAW-Ford 500 event weekend set for Oct. 5-7, 2007, featuring 1,000 miles of racing in 3 days. The weekend begins with the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 race on Friday, Oct. 5, followed by the Mountain Dew 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday, Oct. 6. Then on Sunday, Oct. 7, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams will compete in the UAW-Ford 500, race four in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge on Friday and Saturday of race weekends in the general admission grandstands at Talladega Superspeedway.
