The Bagman to Host Race Fever

Mike “The Bagman” Bagley will co-host the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind’s (AIDB) annual fundraising event, Race Fever, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., April 25, at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Speed Channel Dome at the Talladega Superspeedway. Bagley will join co-host, racing star/media personality Darrell Waltrip and legendary basketball coach Sonny Smith.
Bagley is the host of Sirius Radio’s The Morning Drive and The Post Race Show. In addition to duties at Sirius, he works the booth for the majority of MRN Radio’s coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and in the turns for MRN’s NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series as a turn announcer.

Started in 1985 by former NASCAR Chairman, the late Bill France Jr., Race Fever is a dinner and auction held the Friday night before the spring Talladega race weekend. At Race Fever, NASCAR fans have the opportunity to meet with and have autograph sessions with drivers and their teams.

Tickets are only $60 per person or $450 for a table of 8, and include admission to the event, an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast and the chance to meet dozens of NASCAR drivers. Event tickets and sponsorships are available online at www.racefever.org or by calling (256) 761-3317.

Race Fever is necessary because AIDB receives no county or city tax revenue and doesn’t receive tuition from their students. Proceeds from the event benefit many classroom and dormitory needs of AIDB’s students and clients.

Race Fever is the largest source of unrestricted funds for the AIDB Foundation, the private fundraising arm of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. Through five campuses in Talladega and nine regional centers throughout Alabama, AIDB serves thousands children and adults who are deaf, blind and multidisabled each year.
