Area Information
Welcome to Talladega, Ala., home of NASCAR's Most Competitive Track! The word "Talladega" derives from a Creek Indian word believed to mean "the border town." The region surrounding Talladega Superspeedway is abundant in natural beauty, which is a major reason why thousands of race fans choose to stay overnight with us in one of our many parks on property during our two major event weekends each year.
Within about 20 minutes of the City of Talladega is Cheaha State Park, home of Cheaha Mountain, which at 2,407 is the highest peak in the state. The Talladega National Forest surrounds the park and contains many scenic hiking trails for outdoors enthusiasts. Although the track exists in a picturesque rural setting, it also is located within a short drive to the retail centers of both Birmingham and Atlanta - providing the best of both worlds to area visitors and residents alike.
Also convenient are the nearby cities of Anniston, Pell City, Lincoln and Sylacauga, which provide numerous opportunities for dining, accommodations, shopping and cultural experiences. If you have the opportunity, take in the many things that Alabama has to offer during your time here. We hope you enjoy your visit!
