Chocolate Gravy Biscuits
Biscuit Ingredients:
Bag of frozen biscuits (amount depends on size of family)
Follow cooking directions on bag
Chocolate Gravy Ingredients:
1/3 stick butter
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa (flavor to taste)
2 cups whole milk
Heat butter in a 2 quart pot over low heat. Mix in sugar and cocoa. Slowly pour 1 cup of milk into the pot and whisk well to remove lumps. Whisk in remaining milk, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick, being careful not to scorch. Serve hot over biscuits.
Cook time: 30 minutes and you are ready to indulge.
Cowboy and Indian PowWow
Ingredients:
3 pounds hamburger
1 can ranch style beans
1 can corn, drained
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together. Separate into six servings. Place into foil squares and seal tightly. Grill over hot coals about 30 minutes or until done.
Deep Fried Oreos
Ingredients:
1 cup buttermilk pancake mix
3/4 cup ice water
1 quart vegetable oil
1 sleeve of Oreo cookies (14 each)
2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
Cooking Directions:
In a heavy-gauge 3-quart saucepot heat oil to 350 degrees F.
While oil is heating, set up a sheet pan with paper towels for draining.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir water into buttermilk pancake mix with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. As soon as batter is smooth, dip each cookie, one at a time, into batter and smooth batter, making a thin coat completely around the cookie.
Place coated cookie carefully into hot oil. Repeat for each cookie. Fry cookie on both sides turning over once until golden brown.
Remove fried cookie from hot oil with metal tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners’ sugar.
Let cool slightly (about 2 minutes) before serving.
