TALLADEGA, AL – Talladega Superspeedway, historically known for producing the best motorsports competition on the planet, is proud to announce a different style of racing - U.S. Navy SEAL style - with the HESCO BONEFROG Challenge on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
The HESCO BONEFROG (www.bonefrogchallenge.com) is the only Obstacle Course Race (OCR) owned and operated by U.S. Navy SEALs. BONEFROG was created by Navy SEALs to challenge, build and inspire participants to become better athletes and recognize that they can do anything they set their minds to, while enjoying the camaraderie and teamwork usually reserved for active duty Navy SEALs.
The event will boast three race distances that include: 3-mile Sprint / 20+ obstacles; 8-mile Challenge / 30+ obstacles; 11-mile TIER-1 / 50+ obstacles. For more information on registration and pricing options to be a participant, please visit HESCO BONEFROG's website, www.bonefrogchallenge.com and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/BoneFrogChallenge.
Participants and spectators alike can create a one-of-a-kind experience at the HESCO BONEFROG Challenge by choosing to stay in Talladega's iconic infield for the weekend. Premium camping spots (full hookups) will be $100 and primitive camping spots (no power, water, or sewer hookups) will be $40. Both options can be reserved starting January 20, 2017 by calling 877-Go2-DEGA or logging on to www.talladegasuperspeedway.com. These campsites will also be available for purchase upon arrival for cash only. Event day parking will be onsite as well for just $10.
Promising to bring one of the best OCR’s ever, enthusiasts will not want to miss this truly unique race experience held in Talladega Superspeedway’s infamous infield. Just as the mammoth 2.66-mile track will treat drivers during its two NASCAR race weekends in 2017 (May 5-7 and Oct. 13-15), the BONEFROG Challenge will be the ultimate test.
Awards will be given to individuals placing 1st – 3rd in each category for open waves and cash prizes will be awarded to the Elites for the Challenge and TIER-1 waves. Spectators are welcome and admission is FREE. Sports vendors, music, beer, food and refreshments will be available throughout the day’s event along with a Tadpoles course for the kids. Navy SEALs, along with other Special Operations soldiers, will be part of the event staff and motivating racers along the course. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation providing military families tragedy assistance when an active-duty member is injured or killed in action.
Be sure to check out Talladega Superspeedway’s next weekend of racing action, set for May 5-7 which will feature the GEICO 500 NASCAR Cup Series, the Sparks Energy 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series event and the ARCA Racing Series’ General Tire 200.
