Can You Say “Boogity, Boogity, Boogity”?
Darrell Waltrip to host 2013 Race Fever Fan Frenzy at Talladega
TALLADEGA, AL – Three-time former NASCAR Winston Cup Champion, 1989 Daytona 500 winner, current broadcast celebrity and 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Darrell Waltrip has announced he will host the 2013 RACE FEVER FAN FRENZY, Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind’s (AIDB) annual fundraising event, May 3rd, at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Speed Channel Dome, Talladega Superspeedway. Known as ‘Dega’s Ultimate Party with a Purpose, this fast-paced event features an all-you-can-eat BBQ feast from Williamson Bros., a massive Silent Auction filled with unique racing memorabilia and other great items, an incredible Live Auction with once-in-a-lifetime race experiences plus the chance to see and meet dozens of NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and ARCA drivers!
“This is an incredible event,” states Waltrip. “AIDB, Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR and the entire racing community support this event - many NASCAR drivers take time out of their schedules to make an appearance. This is my fifth year to host Race Fever - I wouldn’t miss it!”
Steve Post from Motor Racing Network (MRN) will be on-hand again this year to interview drivers live on-stage with some of the questions this year coming from the fans in attendance. “The driver commitment and dedication to this event is tremendous,” states Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “Drivers and celebrities like Darrell Waltrip donate their time and racing memorabilia for the live and silent auctions with some of the drivers coming directly from the track to the event. Race Fever allows fans the opportunity to see some their favorite drivers while positively impacting and making a real difference in the lives of children and their families experiencing deafness and blindness. Whether a driver, fan, sponsor or volunteer, this is an amazing event to be involved in – on any level.”
Don’t be left in the dust as race fans from all over the world converge on the SPEED Channel Dome at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame on Friday, May 3rd at Talladega Superspeedway. Event tickets are $50 or buy a table for 8 for $375. Tickets are available online at www.racefever.org or by calling (256) 761-3369.
