Talladega Announces 2010 Schedule
Talladega Superspeedway’s race weekends will maintain their place on the calendar in 2010. That means fans can continue enjoying more than 1,000 miles of racing during the triple header Aaron’s Dream weekend, April 23-25 and experiencing the excitement of Halloween and Race Number Seven in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup during the AMP Energy 500 weekend, Oct. 29-31.
“The two race weekends at Talladega Superspeedway have very unique characteristics,” said President Rick Humphrey. “Although they draw two different demographics of race fans, the exciting on-track action and the thrill of experiencing a Talladega race weekend remains constant. Only Talladega Superspeedway provides authentic NASCAR racing at its finest.”
The 2010 Aaron’s Dream Weekend will feature qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Series, followed by the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 race on Friday, April 23. Justin Lofton won this race in 2009 to secure his first Talladega Superspeedway victory. On Saturday, April 24, fans will see qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, followed by the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. David Ragan picked up his first NASCAR victory in 196 stars during the Aaron’s 312 in 2009. Then on Sunday, April 25, the greatest drivers in the world will face off in the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Brad Keselowski won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in a thrilling finish to the 2009 Aaron’s 499.
The 2010 AMP Energy 500 Weekend will feature NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice, followed by qualifying for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Friday, Oct. 29. On Saturday, Oct. 30, the field for the AMP Energy 500 will be set during Food Land/ Food Giant Qualifying, followed by the stars of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series battling it out in the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s. On Sunday, Oct. 31, dreams will be made and others broken as 43 of NASCAR’s finest compete in the AMP Energy 500, Race Number Seven in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
