Tickets On Sale Now For International Motorsports Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony On April 24th
Tickets are on sale now for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and officials are encouraging individuals and businesses alike to reserve their tickets early. This year’s black-tie ceremony set for Thursday, April 24th, consists of a reception, banquet and awards ceremony.
“This year, in addition to celebrating the accomplishments of six motorsport legends, we are also celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum,” explained Talladega Superspeedway President and IMHOF Executive Director Rick Humphrey. “The timing of this event, coupled with the induction of this sensational class and landmark anniversary promises to make this a very special evening indeed.”
This year, the induction class features: Land Speed Record breaker Art Arfons, NASCAR Champion Robert “Red” Byron, drag racing guru Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, car fabricator Frank Kurtis, NASCAR car owner and driver Everett “Cotton” Owens and Winston promoter Ralph Seagraves. Additionally, 2007 Driver of the Year and two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson will be honored for his accomplishments.

About the International Motorsports Hall of Fame & Museum
Opened in April of 1983, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to the preservation of the history of motorsports. Each year, the annual International Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held on the grounds of the museum to honor those men and women chosen for induction from among the greatest names in all of motorsports. The 2008 ceremony will be held April 24, at the SPEED Channel Dome, adjacent to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. .
About Talladega Superspeedway
Talladega Superspeedway will host its first races of the 2008 NASCAR season during the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, featuring the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series and Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, set for April 25-27. Friday, April 25 will feature NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice and The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Saturday, April 26 will feature The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Then on Sunday, April 27, the greatest drivers in the world will compete in the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge to the general admission grandstands when accompanied by a ticketed adult on Friday and Saturday.
