Annual Bake A Christmas Radio Auction Benefiting Area Children Is This Friday!
Talladega Superspeedway and WTDR Thunder 92.7 FM officials would like to remind everyone that the Annual Bake A Christmas radio auction benefiting area children is this Friday, Dec. 14. Funds raised by the auction are used to fulfill Christmas wishes of less fortunate children in the community who otherwise might not receive any gifts at all.
“I would like to personally encourage everyone to listen and participate in this important event,” said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. “We raised $13,000 for area children last year and we need the community’s support to help meet and succeed that record. I remind fans outside of the normal listening area that they too can participate in the auction by tuning into the live broadcast on www.wtdrthunder.com.”
Throughout the day, members of the Thunder 92.7 FM and Talladega Superspeedway staff will take over the airwaves to auction unique racing memorabilia and experiences paired with delicious baked goods donated by individuals and businesses in the community. The auction begins at 7 a.m. and ends at approximately 7 p.m.
When a listener places a bid and wins an item, they are invited to pick up their auction item and baked goods at the station’s Oxford, Ala. office.
