The legendary Alabama racetrack recently hosted an amazing fall race weekend where fans witnessed exciting side-by-side finishes in three different series. The ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 on Friday, Oct. 5, featured Michael Annett edging 9-time series champion Frank Kimmel by only .042 seconds. On Saturday, Oct. 6, Todd Bodine squeaked past Alabama native Rick Crawford and Johnny Benson, to win the Mountain Dew 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race by a mere .014 seconds. The close-finishes continued into Sunday, Oct. 7, where Jeff Gordon recorded his sixth win at Talladega Superspeedway, nipping Jimmie Johnson at the line by .066 seconds.
"Talladega Superspeedway is home to exciting finishes and thrilling racing," said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. "It has been an incredible year for us at NASCAR's Most Competitive Track. We were able to provide the greatest fans on the circuit with what they came for, and that's the greatest racing on the circuit. The 2008 Aaron's Dream Weekend is set for April 25-27, featuring two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practices and The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Series on Friday, April 25, The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, April 26 and the Aaron's 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, April 27. Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge in the general admission grandstands when accompanied by a ticketed adult on Friday and Saturday.
