The 12 Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup contenders are already looking towards NASCAR's "Wild Card" race, the Oct. 7th UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. If this week's Car Of Tomorrow test proved anything, it was that drivers and even series officials are expecting this race to be an exciting one.

"The way the cars are set up and the big hole they punch in the air, it should be way wilder than anything we've ever seen here," said Denny Hamlin, who currently sits 6th in the points standing. "You're going to see a very similar race to what the Truck races are, and everyone would argue that the Truck races are probably the best superspeedway races, simply because guys can just pull out and pass at will."

"Overall, we've got the car's driving real stable, and for the most part, comfortable for the drivers," said NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Director John Darby. "From all indications we have seen here, it should be a pretty exciting race in October."

Kurt Busch, fifth in the points standings and the driver with the highest average finish at Talladega among the Chase contenders (10th) is also excited about the October 7th race. "I'm excited about it. It's going to change the element of how Talladega races, and I think it will be twice as exciting," Busch said.
