The completion date for all aspects of Transformation, which is part of our 50th anniversary celebration, is set for October 2019 before our fall 2019 NASCAR weekend.
WILL CONSTRUCTION INTERRUPT THE TSS RACE SCHEDULE?

Phase I, which will be completed by our spring 2019 event weekend, is scheduled to include the following:
- 2-lane vehicle tunnel near Turn 3
- RV camping areas near the start-finish line
Phase II, which will be completed by our fall 2019 event weekend, is scheduled to include the following:
- NASCAR Race Operations/Broadcast building
- RV camping areas near the Alabama Gang Superstretch
- Garage Fan Zone Experience

WHY IS THE INFIELD BEING RENOVATED?
Transformation will offer a new, modern, one-of-a-kind experience that will enhance our current fans' visit to this historic track and be more than ever a showcase tourist destination for new fans and entertainment seekers in the future.
DOES TSS BELIEVE THESE IMPROVEMENTS WILL BRING MORE FANS TO THE TRACK?
Yes! Transformation will give all fans - current and future - the opportunity to immerse themselves in the sport of NASCAR, a tradition here since 1969. Our iconic infield and the access provided to fans will be elevated like never before thanks to the creation of new attractions and enhanced amenities for families, teams, sponsors, partners and other stakeholders.
WILL TSS HOLD MORE EVENTS DUE TO THESE PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS?
Yes! We're looking at hosting additional future events - as well as existing local events - in all aspects of the new Garage Fan Zone. In addition, there will be enhanced rental opportunities for businesses and other groups.
WILL THESE IMPROVEMENTS CHANGE THE NUMBER OF SEATS OR CAPACITY AT TSS?
While the outside grandstands won't be affected, with the addition of new RV areas, along with the Paddock Club and Garage Suites, overall capacity will increase.
WILL TSS USE IN-STATE CONSTRUCTION FIRMS TO BUILD THESE IMPROVEMENTS?
Hoar Construction from Birmingham is the pre-construction contractor of the project.
Taylor Corporation from Oxford, AL is spearheading the construction of the new Turn 3 oversized vehicle tunnel. Additional firms will be announced at a later date.
WHICH COMPANY DESIGNED TRANSFORMATION - THE TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY INFIELD PROJECT?
HOW WILL THESE IMPROVEMENTS IMPACT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY?
In 2017, we generated nearly $435 million in total economic activity. With the new RV spaces, Garage Suites and Paddock Club opportunities, along with the additional admission opportunities for the new Garage Fan Zone Experience, we expect more fans for an increase in our economic contribution to local community and state tourism.
Over the last 14 years, we've generated more than $5.6 billion in total economic impact, producing $2.2 billion in payroll (114,700 jobs). During this same time frame in which we've attracted 4.9 million people (3.2 million from outside of the state), we've contributed more than $332 million to the state education trust fund.
WHEN WILL THE NEW AMENITIES AND AREAS BECOME AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE? HOW MUCH WILL THEY COST?
The projected completion of the entire project is set for October 2019. Price points for all new areas are being determined.
Some new infield camping will be available for Spring 2019. Learn more about the new Finish Line Premium RV campground located near the start-finish line/Turn 1! This ground comes with full hook-ups, pre-race access and more!
HOW CAN I GET ADMISSION INTO THE NEW GARAGE FAN ZONE EXPERIENCE?
Admissions for the Garage Fan Zone Experience will be available for everyone to purchase - both infield guests and those who have seats in the grandstands and towers.
There will be single-day, 2-day and 3-day package options for purchase. Fans who wish to purchase single-day Garage Fan Zone Experience admissions must have an accompanying race day grandstand and/or tower ticket. 2-day race ticket package holders may purchase Saturday and/or Sunday single-day Garage Fan Zone Experience admissions or the 2-day Garage Fan Zone Experience package.
5-day infield admissions pass holders may purchase single-day Garage Fan Zone Experience admissions or any of the Garage Fan Zone Experience package options.
For those who have seats in the grandstands and towers, the track will provide tram services to and from the entry/exit of the Garage Fan Zone, while on Sunday morning of race weekends, guests will have the ability to use the frontstretch crossovers. There will also be infield premium parking options available.
WILL TSS INCREASE TICKET AND CAMPING PRICES AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT?
For the new opportunities and amenities in the Garage Fan Zone Experience, Paddock Club and all infield RV areas, price points are being determined.
I ALWAYS PURCHASED PRE-RACE PIT PASSES. WILL THE GARAGE FAN ZONE EXPERIENCE PASS REPLACE THOSE?
Yes. It will replace all Pre-Race Pit Passes, allowing access to pit road and the Garage Fan Zone.
WILL THE TRACK CONTINUE TO OFFER "UNRESTRICTED" AND "SUNDAY VIP" PROGRAMS?
Yes! Those two programs will continue and will have additional VIP opportunities included in each.
WHAT'S THE ADVANTAGE OF THE NEW TUNNEL? WILL IT BE OPEN 24 HOURS THROUGHOUT RACE WEEK?
The new infield tunnel near Turn 3 will be built to accommodate entry by tractor trailers, RVs and trams. It will have 2 lanes of traffic for entry/exit beginning on Wednesday of race week and will be open 24 hours a day.
- Height: 16'8"
- Width: 28'
- Length: 208'
There will be no pedestrian walkways in the tunnel. Pedestrians will use the current crossover Gate V9 walkover when there is no on-track activity.
WILL MY EXISTING INFIELD CAMPING SPOT BE IMPACTED BY THE RENOVATION?
No. Existing infield camping spots will not be impacted by this renovation. The infield project will simply provide more convenience with new locations for mobile showers and a new 24-hour operating infield tunnel for entry/exit.
WILL THERE BE AN AREA TO WATCH THE RACE ON THE BACKSTRETCH?
We are currently determining the location of the Alabama Gang Superstretch RV spaces and potential fan viewing areas. The ISM Vision video board location near the Alabama Gang Superstretch is also to be determined.
WHAT ARE THE RULES/REGULATIONS WITHIN THE NEW INFIELD RV CAMPING AREAS?
All new consumer RV spots are 22' x 50', and each area has a designated quiet time from Midnight to 6:00 AM. Each is equipped with power and water hookups and is in a gated community.
WILL MY EXISTING PADDOCK CLUB SEATS BE IMPACTED BY THE RENOVATION?
Yes. The new two-story Pit Road Club (previously known as the Paddock Club) will require seating reassignments.
